Mod and pop culture references a plenty there... and Samsung have also used our 'impatience' as a clever marketing hook in their latest ad... maybe the two needed to hook up??
Supporting Sport - it's still someone chasing a dream...
So, I sit down to whatever is on the tv (not mine- I don't own a TV)...
...that whatever is 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics Berlin 2009. I'm not sporty and don't really rate watching it.
There was an interview with a lady talking about funding. The level of success that she had achieved in this lot of events was sure to positively impact the level of funding, so that she (and others) could continue to train and compete for Britain.
The jist was that funding has been a worry and last Winter she had to take on a part-time job because there wasn't enough funding to support her training full time.
My first reaction was 'Gee, poor woman, having to work part-time like the rest of us. Why should she recieve funding so she can do sport full time - sport isn't going to save the world!?'.
Then after thinking about it for a while... why shouldn't she? I guess she's chasing her dream, which is something that I endeavor to do and champion everyday.
Her dream is just different to mine. Who am I to question that??
The shoe could easily be on the other foot if I caught one of my dreams to be a full time writer/adventurer.
